Co-curated by Akili Tommasino, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Dr Julie Crooks, Curator of Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora at the Art Gallery of Ontario, the 2026 Bermuda Biennial presents new works by 34 artists. 

Akili Tommasino will share some insights into his curatorial process, sharing the research he did on Bermuda to prepare for the jurying process, the themes that emerged and how viewing the Gallery’s permanent collection shaped the exhibition.
