What I love to photograph are scenes that tell a story of abandonment, violence and neglect: told by every crack, shattered glass, withering foliage and rusting metal. The quiet places where nature tries to reclaim what we have left behind. In this photograph, I found the sheer scale and allure of abandonment lying raw, unfiltered and arresting. The roofs, iconic to Bermuda, are recontextualized here as fragments no longer elevated, but lowered into a space where time, salt and tide begin to alter their form. There is a quiet tension between what they were and what they are becoming, a gradual surrender to forces beyond their design.
