Sharon Muhammad’s work captures the intimacies of everyday
life. This painting is based on a photograph taken of a close
friend of the artist during the last few days of her life.
Muhammad says: “This is a very personal situation. Viewers
often think that scenes in a painting are made up, but these
are real people in a real situation. I wanted to capture somebody attending to somebody else. It was a very healing and
unique experience.”
