These two artworks illustrate Valentine’s early experimentation with both resin and with a three-dimensional format. They are a precursor to a series of large-scale abstract resin works that she created in 1970s. Although the subject matter – flowers – is traditional, her use of materials and the playful title hint at her left-field approach.
