Michael Walsh received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University (1998) and his Master of Fine Arts from Dundee University (2004). He is currently an Art Lecturer at Bermuda College. Walsh works in a variety of media, from installation to performance art, and often works collaboratively. The heart of his work is to experience relevance and connection.

He says: “We consume beauty and decorated atrocities to assign ourselves value. We are so afraid our lives are meaningless we endure tradition, identify through segregation, commodify divinity, profit on slavery and condone genocide to feed our frantic need to believe we are special. We are so desperate to feel safe we wage horrific war. I want my art to be a celebration of communion. I want to follow other artists into the mud and play. I want to feel I am a part of the world instead of lamenting and reinforcing my isolation, but it seems I still need to work through my shame and privilege to find community.”
