In anatomy, the word ‘inadherent’ means a structure, organ or tissue that is free, or not connected to adjacent tissues—a condition that allows for normal movement and function. inadherent is an installation and adhesive poem that explores the form of a eulogy and addresses the freedom of death, recontextualizing the reckless relationship to the island’s roads as a postmortem. It is a continuation of adhere//adhesion, an adhesive poem installation using helmets and wooden stakes, as an homage to roadside shrines erected at accident sites around the island.
