No Comfort in Complaint 1 (shown here, detail) and No Comfort in Complaint 2 (not shown) begin a series of paintings about how lives are shaped by history, power and what we inherit. The paintings respond to a postcolonial world where injustices are real and ongoing but naming them does not always restore agency. Rather than dramatizing resistance or offering comfort, the works linger in quiet tension and unresolved presence.
