Usually colours and forms come in naturally, without expectations or plans. In recent years I feel more clearly how my drawings and paintings are shaped by the place where I find myself—the energies of my physical location and of my own mood. It feels like forms and compositions establish themselves through me and rather than depicting something, they are animate objects—mysterious seeds, doorways, keys, offerings, colours—channeling elemental energy.
