This film, captured utilising drone technology, follows a second pair of whales as they approach Bermuda’s shallow reefs at sunset where they exfoliate in the sand holes. Its meditative quality is emphasised by the immersive experience of the arial footage.

Stevenson’s research on the behaviour of the humpbacks in Bermuda provides a unique window into their mid-ocean lives, into which little research had been done previously. This ground-breaking film shows the whales inflating their pleats to rid themselves of sea lice – complex behaviour never previously witnessed.
