Biennial Jurying

Ebony G. Patterson and Helen Toomer

Last week we welcomed multimedia artist Ebony G. Patterson and art fair organiser Helen Toomer to Bermuda to jury the 2024 Bermuda Biennial. Over 200 individual artworks were submitted, from which the pair selected 33 to be displayed in the exhibition. 

The jurors gave an insightful talk at the Bacardi headquarters for artists who submitted to the Biennial, in which they provided insights into the jurying process and their vision for the upcoming exhibition, which opens in April. ⁣

The Bermuda Biennial is a critical platform for Bermuda’s contemporary art community. Organised by the Bermuda National Gallery since 1994, and sponsored by Bacardi Limited, the exhibition showcases the dynamism of local artists as well as international artists living on the island, and serves as a platform for programmes on art, culture and dialogue. 

The 2024 Bermuda Biennial, juried by Ebony G. Patterson and Helen Toomer, opens at the Bermuda National Gallery on April 13 and runs through January 2025. Members are invited to join us for the opening reception on Friday, April 12. Please save the date.
