The Bermuda National Gallery’s signature Art+Tech Summer Camp inspires young artists (ages 11–14) to explore digital creativity! Running Monday to Friday  June 30 to August 15 (with a one-week Cup Match break), this program provides campers with iPads and Apple Pencils to create a unique digital portfolio infused with their individual styles.

Each week focuses on exciting themes: Beginner Animation, Intermediate Animation, and Digital Painting. Daily, campers learn new skills in Procreate and tackle creative challenges, culminating in a portfolio showcase for their families. Field trips to BNG, public art tours, and sweet treats round out the fun!

We’re looking for two enthusiastic team members to join us for a summer of art-making:

  • Senior Camp Counsellor: The Senior Camp Counsellor ensures the safety and well-being of campers, coordinates with BNG staff, and communicates with parents. A teaching background or experience working with children is highly recommended. While animation experience is a bonus, it is not required.
  • Animation Specialist: The Animation Specialist develops and teaches the Procreate syllabus, guiding campers through creative projects and offering feedback on their digital art. Teaching experience is preferred but not required.

The Art+Tech Summer Camp is designed to develop campers’ digital art skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts. Each week introduces a unique theme—Beginner Animation, Intermediate Animation, or Digital Painting—ensuring fresh and exciting content for returning campers.

The Camp day starts at 8:30 am and finishes by 3:30 pm.
Each day follows a structured format:

  • Morning: Campers learn a new skill or art theory using Procreate
  • Afternoon: Campers apply their morning lessons to creative projects, honing their technical skills and personal style.

Campers also participate in enriching activities throughout the week, including:

  • Field Trips: Visits to the Bermuda National Gallery to explore exhibitions, a public art walking tour of Hamilton, and a sweet treat to celebrate their achievements.
  • Portfolio Creation: At the end of each week, campers select their favorite projects to create a polished digital portfolio, which is shared with families.

All Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Be above 18 years of age
  • Be able to work in Bermuda without a work permit
  • Have an up-to-date first aid certificate by June 1 2025
  • Be SCARS trained by June 1 2025
