On Saturday, August 26 from 2-4pm at Bermuda National Gallery, join Bermudian artist Jon Legere as he hosts a two-hour mixed media collage workshop. This is a great opportunity for any art enthusiast to explore multiple techniques — from traditional collaging, to image transfers and gestural mark making — all processes that the artist incorporates into his own mixed media work.
Based in New York, Legere has exhibited his work in galleries globally, and is a five-time Bermuda Biennial artist. Legere’s collage work was featured in the 2013 publication The Age of Collage, which emphasizes: “Spontaneous, irreverent, and personal, collage fits more perfectly into our current world than almost any other artistic technique.”
The cost of the workshop is $60 for BNG members and $75 for non-members. All materials will be provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own paper-based collage materials for a more personal approach. Limited to 15 spaces. Ages 10+ welcome if accompanied by adult.
