Conservation is a complex and often little known field of fine arts and museum practice. It combines art history, fine arts and natural sciences to ensure artworks are stabilised, repaired and preserved for the future.

It plays a vital role in preserving cultural heritage in museum collections, but also has important implications and applications for all artworks, in private collections, homes and artist studios.

With a particular focus on 2-D artworks in Bermuda, join curators and consultants Daisy Gould and Nathan Ladd who will share their experience as curators at national museums, including Tate, Hayward Gallery and Serpentine Gallery, alongside New York based paintings conservator Mark Greenberg, to discuss and explore what fine art conservation is, why it is so important, and hear first hand more about the conservation work taking place on the Hamilton Princess art collection.
