Enriching Lives

The Bermuda National Gallery offers a variety of education programmes in conjunction with current exhibitions for learners of all ages.

After School: Drawing for Animation

Starting in November 2021, BNG will offer a six-week after-school intensive programme for high school students aged 14 to 18. Students will meet every Monday and Thursday and learn to create their own short animations.

BNG has partnered with local artists to offer a six-week drawing class for adults. Participants will learn from these professional artists while honing their skills across a variety of drawing techniques. Classes begin Wednesday, October 27.

BNG Urban Sketch

Free and open via drop in, BNG Urban Sketch is a new weekly meet up for artists on Saturdays from 11am – 1pm. Participants will meet in the gallery and then visit different locations around Hamilton to sketch together. Sessions will begin on Saturday, October 30.

School Tours

The Bermuda National Gallery offers free art tours to all schools. These can be linked with the classroom curriculum to support class studies and projects as needed. All school visits must be booked in advance.

Educational Resources

Children’s activity booklets to accompany current exhibitions are available at the front desk. Packs can also be downloaded (free) via the exhibition pages for those who wish to explore the gallery online.

Art + Tech Camp

Using current exhibitions as a starting point, students focus on a variety of art making skills – from traditional techniques to digital technologies, often fusing the two together. Suitable for ages 11 to 14.

Youth Arts Council

The Youth Arts Council, aimed at ages 13 to 17, is a free programme which explores the topics of the day through the lens of art and art-making. Students meet artists and learn to creatively problem solve.

Teacher Training

BNG offers professional development training workshops to all teachers and community educators in partnership with the Bermuda Union of Teachers and the Bermuda Educators’ Council.
