Molly Bretton, juror of the 2024 Junior Bermuda Biennial and Head of Learning at the Royal Academy of Arts (London) gives a talk on the importance of supporting young artists.
Monday December 2, reception at 5.30pm, followed by talk at 6pm. Tickets are $20 for BNG members, $30 for non-members, and free for students and educators.
Join Molly Bretton, Head of Learning at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, for an engaging talk on the importance of supporting and showcasing young artists. As the inaugural juror for the 2024 Junior Bermuda Biennial, Molly will share her insights into the unique creativity of children, the stories their art tells, and why it deserves a place in the wider art conversation.
Drawing from her experience launching the Royal Academy’s acclaimed Young Artists’ Summer Show – a programme that receives over 20,000 submissions annually – Molly will explore how platforms like the Junior Bermuda Biennial can help young people feel valued, celebrated, and inspired to create.
Attendees will also have the exclusive opportunity to preview the Junior Bermuda Biennial before it opens to the public. This special event celebrates the next generation of Bermudian artists and highlights the significance of nurturing their creativity as a culture of its own, not just a step toward adulthood.
